A Living Connection: Ringwood Waldorf School and Sturts Community Trust

At the heart of our community lies a quiet but powerful partnership—one that continues to shape lives, landscapes, and learning in meaningful ways. The relationship between Ringwood Waldorf School and Sturts Community Trust, home to Gullivers Farm Shop & Kitchen, is rooted in more than shared location. It’s built on a shared philosophy—one that values the human being, the natural world, and the spaces where they meet in rhythm and purpose.

Both the school and the Trust draw on the principles of Rudolf Steiner, placing emphasis on whole-person development—head, heart, and hands. At Ringwood Waldorf School, children are nurtured through a curriculum that cultivates creativity, reverence, and a deep connection to nature. At Sturts, adults with varying support needs engage in meaningful work on the land, in the kitchen, and in the shop—supported, included, and empowered every step of the way.

What unites us is more than ethos. It’s action.

Children walk through the fields where their food is grown, witness the rhythm of the seasons through the work of the land, and learn—by example—that community is something we build with our hands and carry in our hearts. The Trust, in turn, is enriched by the presence of young people whose curiosity, joy, and natural sense of wonder bring life to the farm in new ways.

Our Gullivers Farm Shop & Kitchen acts as a bridge—offering produce and products born from this relationship: biodynamic vegetables, ethical dairy, handmade goods, and a space where everyone belongs. Here, learning becomes life, and care becomes community.

This partnership is not a project. It is a living ecology. One where education, inclusion, sustainability, and shared humanity are not separate threads—but part of one deeply woven fabric.

As we grow together, we invite you—our wider community—to be part of it: to walk the land, visit the farm, share a meal, support our shop, and carry forward a story of connection that’s rooted in something truly meaningful.
